~ The Journey ~
The cold wind blows into the lonely night, Sounds of silence spark eerieness and fright.
The dusty trail so worn by years afoot, Has lain untouched and blanketed by soot.
I wonder why times change the hearts desire, Take away the love and extinguish its eternal fire.
Alone I stride down that trail of tears, Kicking up the soot to bring back the painful years.
Sometimes I sit and think of how things once were, Then return to the trail uncertain and unsure.
Im lost and alone along the path of despair, Noone to hold and to listen to me or care.
When a tiny light glimmers way down the winding road, Someone is there perhaps share my heavy load?
Never give up hope always press on and fight, Someday the road will emerge from the dark and coldness of the night.
I see your face and it gives me strength to go on, Sadness despair and loneliness soon to be gone.
Reaching, praying, hoping someday the journey will end, Finding you in the light my one eternal friend.
I ask of you but only one small thing, For you hear my words and take me under your wing.
A beautiful vision to behold fills me eyes with delight, An end to the pain, suffering, and end to the cold night.
Together we journey in warmth of peace from heaven above, To have you beside me, comfort you with my love.
I say to you "I take you in my arms, my promise to you is true." Them kiss you and tell you again ...
"I always and shall forevermore love ..... You."
