Criminal

cornered like a criminal
frowns upon this dirty world
and through it all she stands up tall
to prepare for yet another fall

retreats within her better sins
replenished by her many men
breathes the air of indignity
to discover her own fragility

cornered by the dark she sees
above the forest, through the trees
a better life she can not see
just glimpses of her misery
