Here the youthful tourists get their kicks.
Planning tours from food-stained brochures
Sitting sipping sap at Licks.
Ride the Raintree Roller Coaster!
Spin The Rental's Willing Wheel!
Bleached to faded blue the travel poster.
Run with rain the blackboard's spell.
See them sit and stare
Breathen in the petrol-sodden air,
Pen poised on diary in battered folder,
Another day poorer, another day older.
Here the once-young tourists get their kicks,
Far from the fruit-filled gardens fresh-picked nectar
Sipping sap at Licks.
