Dark of the Night

(This was written for a college writing class.
The assignment was to write a poem from a different perspective.
This was, obviously, from a man's POV.)

In the dark of the night
I see her
I smell her beautiful scent
And taste her magnificent lips.

In the dark of the night
I am calm and confident
I promise her the world
And take her to the stars.

In the dark of the night
She accepts me, she loves me
With as much power and ardor
As I love her.

In the dark of the night
We are lovers
We are free
We are one.

In the dark of the night
I dream.
