Read the information in your folder for this stage, then try these questions

 

1.     On what three types of evidence is our knowledge of Roman Britain based?

4.     Look closely at the diagram showing layers of evidence for  occupation at Fishbourne (page 137). Try to work out and imagine the sequence of events which led to the formation of this archaeological record in the ground.

 

 

5.     Make a simple flowchart showing the way in which many sites in Britain developed

7.     Look carefully at the plan of Calleva on page 138, find Calleva on the map of Roman Britain,  now ask to watch the video!

 

 

8.     Write out carefully the inscription of the soldier from Chester,  make it big enough so that you can then annotate it to explain what each part of it means.

 

 
 



9.  Choose one of the other two inscriptions on page 141. Write it out and annotate

 

 
appropriately to show as much understanding of it as possible.
