Stephen Schnetzer originated the role of lawyer Cass Winthrop on Another World in July 1982. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1990 for Outstanding Actor. He has been nominated for many Soap Opera Digest Awards over the years. In 1986, he was nominated for Outstanding Comic Relief. In 1989, he WON for Outstanding Comic Performance. In 1991, he was nominated for Oustanding Supporting Actor. In 1992, he was nominated for Outstanding Actor. In 1999, he was nominated for Outstanding Male Scene Stealer.

Schnetzer received his training as an actor at the Juilliard School in New York City. He also studied at Alvin Ailey?s American Dance Center. He appeared on Broadway in A Talent for Murder with Claudette Colbert and in a production of Filumena directed by Sir Laurence Olivier.

Schnetzer played opposite Sir Michael Redgrave in a national tour of Shakespeare?s People and on PBS?s The Taming of the Shrew. He also appeared in The Tempest with Sir Anthony Hopkins and in Romeo and Juliet. For four seasons he was a company member with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

His primetime television credits include featured roles on The Cosby Mysteries, Prince Street, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat and Hawaii Five-O. He got his start in the daytime arena on One Life to Live as Marcello Salta, and he appeared on Days of Our Lives as Steve Olsen. A native of Canton, Mass., Schnetzer is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where he earned a B.A. in French. He and his wife, actress Nancy Snyder, live in New York City with their two sons. Schnetzer?s birthday is June 11.
