Why Does Cass Want
Lila? Lila is very different from Frankie. Lila
doesn't have a spiritual bone in her body. When fans write in wondering
what he sees in her, I tell them that there is a good woman in Lila that
is just waiting to come out and be loved. And a lot of fans are protective
of Cass because he's been around for so long and has gone through so much
stuff, so I find it very sweet that they are so protective of him.
It seems like Cass has finally come back to life...and I'm
really glad that the writers have 'rediscovered' him. I felt for a while
like there had been so many different headwriters, they really didn't know
who Cass was and what I (as an actor) could do. And it's also nice to find
Lisa Peluso (Lila), who is a great partner.
Regarding Cass being so distrustful of Matt, there was a
sequence of events that really made Cass stand up and take notice. He
doesn't know what's going on, he doesn't know anything about the
specifics, but he thinks some kind of mind control might be going on,
because people are behaving so strangely. Matt is acting out of character.
When he proposed to Lila, it was a complete turnaround. Lila is also
acting strangely, although she is acting out of fear. She expresses the
concern that these people have taken her baby once before, and they could
do it again."
