Toru Magami
Toru Magami is Kamui's mother, and she knew full well who her son would grow up to be. She told her sister Tokiko that she would 'bear the son of a man' and that he would be important in the fate of the world, then left. She never told Kamui much of his fate, other than he must stay alive until the 'promised day' in 1999. She died in a fire at their house, and told him then to return to Tokyo. She evidently had a deep effect on Kamui, as she is all he thinks of at the beginning of 'Prelude', and his thoughts return to her again and again through the series.
