he played pro ball for seattle and then homesteaded in saskatchewan...
"gramma", cora, was the aunt of actress jane wyman...
grampa roy played all sorts of instruments
and had weekly hootenanies on the farm with the neighbours...

shane's mother was a gifted pianist
and he remembers sitting back listening to her play chopin...
