Tuesday August 17, 2004-Erin Eisenburger, 34, of Niagara went missing on Friday the 13th. She was last seen at 1:15 when she left her home on River Street, as reported by her live-in cousin Jane Sanderson. Sanderson said Eisenburger usually walks her dog down at Little Quinnesec Falls on the Power Plant overlook near the corner of Pine and Mill Streets.
Neighbors in the blue two-story house on Mill Street said they saw a young redheaded woman walking a large black dog with a light brown muzzle at 1:30. Two teenage girls, tourists to the area, who were walking along River Street, sat down on the steps of one of the residents to take a break from their hike to visit St Anthony's Shrine at the Catholic Church.
They took this picture about 2:00.
And when the police photographers blew it up they noticed this van.
Police also recovered the woman’s wedding ring, which was found at Pier’s Gorge down the Menominee River.
The black dog, a Chow mix, returned home alone on Saturday.
Eisenburger’s husband, Robert, has identified the gold band.
On Sunday a woman from Illinois found a black flip flop at the Tranquil Vista Campground south of Beecher. The cousin said Eisenburger was wearing black flip-flops when she went missing. Authorities have sent the sandal off to the state lab for DNA testing.
Erin Eisenburger attended Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, worked at the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan as an assistant curator, and recently moved to Niagara to work on studies of the pollution effects of the paper mills.
Any information regarding the missing woman as to sightings or information regarding the van pictured above should be given to Sergeant Willamaker at the Niagara Police Department.
UPDATE:The missing woman, Erin Eisenburger, voluntarily returned home on Wednesday August 18th. Apparently she had a rendezvous with an ex-boyfriend, her first love. The Eisenburger's are now attending marriage counseling.
