Leo.
Pencil. 11 x 14 inches. Leo is well known for liking a prominent role in its community. The drawing is intended to suggest that what makes a person a quality leader of others is an inner radiance. The Sun radiates its beauty in the northern hemisphere at its most splendid in Leo, late July into August. This drawing goes further, making even less of the life giving radiant qaulity in the appearance of both the inner Solar fire and the cloaked figure who transmits this energy. It is not what you see that matters.
Cancer.
Pencil. 11 x 14 inches. Fullness and softness are the invitations of Cancer. The emotions are wholly present in the forefront of this characters description, but there is a timidity about the risk of brusing them. Never the less, Cancer will give much love to get it. Having got it, the home is complete.
Virgo.
Pencil. 10 x 14 inches. The harvest must come, and with it the sacrifice of death follows soon after. All the animals and plants cultivated for the season must be taken in for counting and distribution. There is an apprehension about this, the sorrow that the growth of summer has its limits, and that life must end for those plants and animals before a new birth comes along in the spring. Refuge is found in the thinking about plans, tabulating and seeing that the needs are met. The Virgin is Virgo, knowing that it must eventually surrender life to death for new life.
