Drawings: Natural Forces

Irresistable Force.

Pencil. 9 x 12 inches. The progression of time and the forces of nature, ever birthing and rebirthing itself press without relief. Ideas, theories and plans of man are passed over, whether they are willing to work with nature or not. Time itself is the master.

Binah: The Drawing.

Coloured Pencil. 6 x 9 Inches. Original is coloured with soft light pastels. Same subject as oil painting on another page.

Saint Rupert

Pencil. 8 x 10 Inches. This Teutonic Saint saved his land from a plague of worms. Syncronistically maybe, Rupert Bear saved many children’s imaginations including mine with tales of wonder and simple magic from the inevitable rational monster of impending maturity. He frequented with people and animals of every description, fairies, sprites, and magical articles that transported him and his readers to a timeless fantasy. I thought Saint Rupert could do with a little relief from worm combat, and Rupert Bear could do with a little more serious look at life.
