DVE STVARI U JEDNOJ
Sve na ovom svetu
pesnik opevati moze.
Najlepsa je pesma
dve stvari u jednoj
kad se sloze.
Sjaj i oci, zrak i
trava,
u casu kad dan pocne
da odjutrava.
Leptir i cvet, trn
i noga,
ne mogu jedno bez
drugoga.
Pile ide uz kokos,
cure uz curku, plovce
uz plovku,
reci o njima kitnjaste
uz zvonko grlo
i olovku.
Mama ide uz tatu,
visoko glavu drzi,
ispred trce decaci,
hteli bi od oca i
majke
bar malo biti brzi.
Tata ide uz mamu,
gologlav i s kacketom.
Pesma raste iz srca
i zivi
s celim svetom.

TWO THINGS IN ONE
A poet can make a poem
about all things that
matter.
The most beautiful
poem is made
when two different
things
go together.
Sparkles and eyes,
air and grass
when new days start
as dawn hours pass.
Butterflies and flowers,
a thorn and a foot
just can't be without
the other part.
A duckling goes with
a duck,
a chick with a turkey,
a hen;
Pretty words about
them
go with resonant voice
and with a pen.
Mom goes with Dad,
her head is up so
high.
Boys run in front
of them—
they'd like to be
faster than parents
even for a while.
Dad goes with Mom,
listening and being
heard.
A poem comes from
the heart
and lives
with the whole world.
