Looks like this is going to be a great day for Claymore. He just found out that Norrie is having a two-for-one dinner special at the Lobster House tonight. Mmmmmm…..Claymore really loves Norrie’s lobster dinners, especially when he can get one at half price. Oh, but wait, he just remembered that Deke, his regular dinner partner on two-for-one nights, is out of town. Who else can he find to split the cost of his lobster dinner?
Mrs. Muir! That’s the answer! She doesn’t get out much and she is sure to appreciate paying only half price for her dinner, especially considering the high rent he charges her for Gull cottage. She may even let him have her desert. After all, women like to stay thin and trim. He’d actually be doing her a favor by eating it. This is going to work out perfectly!
Today we find Carolyn Muir busily working on her latest magazine article. Unfortunately it is not going so well. She’s run out of new ideas and her mind keeps drifting off to thoughts of a certain handsome ghost. Sigh…..suddenly her daydreams are interrupted by the ringing of her phone.
Its Claymore calling to ask her out to Norrie’s two-for-one night. Well, what girl could resist paying half price for her dinner? She’d gladly give up her desert too. It’s a date!
Actually, spending an evening with Claymore isn’t top on her list of things to do, but a change of scenery may do her good. Plus, she has a new dress she was saving for a special night out. Of course she was hoping that night would be with the Captain, unfortunately she did not see how they could ever possibly go out to dinner together, with him being a ghost and all. She would just have to settle for Claymore this time.
That evening Claymore arrived promptly at 6:00 PM to pick up his date. Look at that snazzy purple jeep! He can’t wait for that half price dinner. He already is wearing his special “Norrie’s Lobster House” bib.
Oooh! Its definitely his night. He managed to find some flowers to pick for Mrs. Muir by the front gate. For Claymore its only the best that you don’t need money to buy!
Here comes Carolyn out to greet her date!
As the lingering scent of Claymore’s “Hai Karate” aftershave wafts through the air, it catches the attention of Captain Gregg. Hmmm……who could be intruding upon Gull Cottage now?
What is this he sees in his telescope? Why its Mrs. Muir! And what is she wearing? She certainly doesn’t plan to be seen in public wearing that dress?
Unaware that they are being watched, Claymore and Mrs. Muir prepare to leave for their date….
…When seemingly out of nowhere, a cape appears, covering Carolyn and her new dress.
Apparently someone is not too happy about her date.
Carolyn goes up to the widow’s walk to confront the Captain. How dare he decide what she can and cannot wear? “There is nothing wrong with my dress. “ she says.
“You call that a dress?” he replies.
Suddenly Carolyn finds herself wearing a beautiful gown.
And as she looks off to the side, she discovers that the Captain has prepared a special dinner for two.
Although she is not too happy about his old fashioned opinions on her wardrobe decisions, she has to admit the gown is beautiful, and dinner with the Captain would be much nicer than with Claymore. But what about Claymore????
Well the Captain has plans for him. “Half –price dinner at Norrie’s? Flowers from the front lawn? Plans to steal her desert? I’m afraid your luck has run out Claymore!”
Ouch! That must hurt!
With Claymore gone, the Captain and Carolyn settle down for their special dinner. However, Carolyn can’t help but show him that its not always a good idea to fiddle around with someone’s wardrobe.
And it does appear that Claymore has recovered from his unfortunate tumble. He made it to Norrie’s and although he did not qualify for the two–for–one special, that bump on the noggin made him think he was actually getting two deserts!
Unfortunately, it seems that the lobsters at Norrie’s have chosen this night to stage a revolt.
Ouch, now THAT must REALLY hurt!
As Claymore finally realizes that a two-for-one dinner special is not all its cracked up to be, our favorite couple discovers that in their case, two is most definitely better than one.
