My oil pastel drawings are generally quite large and done on thick brown paper. They are all appropriated from
photojournalistic images chosen for their emotional gestural qualities and thematically play with the space between hurting and helping. |

My photography work chronicles many years of documenting my life and the various places I've lived and people I've known. I have been heavily influenced by street photographers like Lee Friedlander and Berenice Abbott, as well as the versatile photographer Robert Frank. It has always been my means to explore a place. |

I have taught ninth grade Studio Art and Media Studies in both an inner-city and a suburban high school. I have also taught: 3D Studio Art, Ceramics, Drawing, Beginning Photography and Advanced, Computer Art and Yearbook. At the university level I have taught 2D Design, Art Fundamentals, Photography, and Computer Art. I have also taught workshops for all ages. These are some samples of high school work. I enjoy teaching ALL mediums! |
