ICIS
Peace Campaign.
32 | 45¢ | Purple, green, & red | View stamp |
This issue honours the ICIS Peace Campaign, done to try to cool off hot tempers in the dying years of the old millennium. A sense of doom and the approach of bad times foretold by Nostradamus caused a bellicose mood to descend. The ICIS had a flurry of small "brushfire wars" to try to quench. The stamps are printed on white paper with invisible gum, and were printed by the Imperial Occussi-Ambeno Government Printing Office (KDPN), Baleksetung, Occussi-Ambeno. All stamps are perf 12. Printing was done by letterpress using the KDPN's Heidelberg platen press. To view the special First Day Cover, click here. World peace
