The information that has been given me . . . and it is really only by mouth handed down . . . is Jacob built
a house on Hidra Island before he died and somehow passed away in 1850. When Johan G. married Malia
Bentsdtr. from Allestad he "brought his bride to his mother's house." There he raised his 10 children and
his mother, Grete Marie, lived with them. She died in 1891 and Johan's wife died in 1892. I have pictures of
the old home on Hidra Island that looks in pretty sad need of repair. That was where Johan's kids were
raised and possibly it dates back to his father (Tonette's father) Jacob Hansen who built it.
That is only fairly logical speculation.

Also enclosed is an interesting item I received quite some time ago. Christen Toresen's signature from
apparently a court document in 1811. It must have been handed down to Tonette's brother Johan Jacobsen's
granddaughter. She gave it to me. Perhaps you find it interesting.

So I guess you say I go back to the Kvanvigs also . .. a looong time ago! Ralph Orme.
