He died on 27 Mar 1902 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. He was buried on 29 Mar 1902 in Dickie Church Cemetery, Ashland, OH.⁽¹²⁾ He was married to Elizabeth GARMAN in 1849.

9. Elizabeth GARMAN was born on 14 Sep 1824 in PA. ⁽¹²⁾ She appeared on the census in 1850 in Ephrata Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. She appeared on the census in 1900 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. She died on 15 Mar 1905 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. ⁽¹²⁾ She was buried on 17 Mar 1905 in Dickie Church Cemetery, Ashland, OH.⁽¹⁴⁾ Children were:

i. Isaac KILHEFNER was born in May 1850.⁽¹⁵⁾ He appeared on the census in Sep 1850 in Ephrata Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. He was married to Amanda Kahl in the "winter of 1870" according to the book, "History of Ashland County". He was a minister at Dickie Church and the first pastor at Gretna Brethren Church in 1891. There is a men's dorm at Ashland College, Kilhefner Hall, named in his honor. Isaac died 4 Jul 1892 and is buried in Dickie Church Cemetery. He had 3 sons, Edwin, Ralph, and Pearl. Pearl served in the National Guard in WWI.
ii. Peter KILHEFNER was born in Mar 1853 in PA. He was a Farmer in 1900. He married Jennie R. May Strouse 31 Aug 1898 in Ashland, OH. He died 4 Jun 1917.
iii. Samuel KILHEFNER was born in May 1859 in OH. He appeared on the census in 1880 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. ⁽¹⁶⁾ He married Amanda Elizabeth Ohl 31 Jan 1884. He was a teacher in his early life, later working on the editorial staff of the Chicago World He was a Farmer in 1900 in Milton Twp, Ashland Co., Oh. ⁽¹⁷⁾ He appeared on the census in 1900 in Milton Twp, Ashland Co., Oh.⁽¹⁷⁾ He appeared on the census in 1920 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. He was a Driver for Express Wagon.

v. Susan KILHEFNER was born in May 1865 in OH. She married Albert Myers about 1884. She appeared on the census in 1900 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH. She had only one son who died in infancy. She died on 10 Oct 1906 in Ashland, Ashland Co, OH.
vi. John Lewis KILHEFNER was born on 24 Jul 1869 in Montgomery Twp, Ashland Co, Ashland, OH.⁽¹⁸⁾ He married Bertha Fulk about 1894. He appeared on the census in 1900. He worked for the Wells Fargo Express Co. He died about 1945. ⁽¹⁷⁾
