. English Tom Sawyer This year's Halloween play was an adaptation of Mark Twain's famous book, Tom Sawyer. It is about Tom Sawyer, a boy who lived next to the Mississippi River in the middle 1800's . Tom Sawyer was a mischevious boy who was always getting into trouble. " Perhaps the most glaring difference is that Huck simply hates the public attention that is described as "food and drink" to Tom. But there are many signs of how these two figures were somehow twinned in MT's imagination.
