After successfully completing the SEP, these students will be eligible to enter their junior year in science and engineering majors offered at Boston University. Completion of the undergraduate degree will normally require only two additional years of study. Top of Page Academic Support Services The Science and Engineering Program provides a system of academic support services to assure that each student has ample opportunity to obtain whatever assistance he or she may need to gain academic success. Additional tutoring and study groups allow students to work out weak points and enhance understanding. Faculty are readily and systematically available to review coursework and to extend class discussions on both an individual and a class group basis. |

Using the Internet patients could take on the role of an independent interest group within the health sector. The Internet influences the manifold economic, social and cultural interactions and thus also shapes social reality. The computer-supported omnipotence of a future health care system is not unproblematic. The danger exists that the possibility of total control of the individual may be concealed behind the superficial demands for total availability of health data records for the benefit of patients. Incorrect information or even manipulation of patient data could be the result. |
