On a screen leaning against a post a man can be seen life-size and in slow motion; although he seems physically healthy, he cannot stand up. The helplessness of the man is reinforced by the powerlessness of the viewer, who stands and watches. In addition to the video works, 'Something between my mouth and your ear' of 1994 can be seen. This is a space painted entirely blue in which are played 30 pop singles released between January and September 1966, the period in which Douglas's mother was pregnant with him. A third type of work is shown in the collection presentation and this is 'The End (Split Second Configuration)' of 1995. |
