In His Memory
In Memory of David Briggs

Then it was over...
As quickly as it first began
My fantasy was forever lost
I just don't understand.
My heart was slammed like a door.
I can't hear the music anymore.
The day you died I lost my mind.
As I looked at your young pale face
your eyes closed so tight, but your smiled stayed
Seeing my lover in that marble case.
I stared at your face as memories swarmed my mind
A love as dedicated as yours I will never find.
I kissed your lips for the last time
and rubbed your face with the hand
that once massaged your back during love
was now unable to understand.
As we buried you into the ground
my heart is lost and will never be found.
Our three little boys are alone
without their daddy near
You are not here to show them the way
As they grow up through the years
I will never forget you
My angel that carries me through
You were so young
My husband is dead
I will always love you
and thats all that needs to be said.
