I was standing in the 10-or-less line at Jewel, picking up some last minute go-withs for dinner. The fellow in front of me had 11 items.
Two chattering twenty-somethings were behind me.
“How many one-night stands have you had?” asked the blonde.
“None.” Answered the tall brunette.
“None? You’re kidding, right?”
“Nope.” The girl paused. “I always see them a second time.”
“You must be giving out your last name or your phone number.”
“Both.”
“No. That’s not the way to do it. First name only; no number.”
“Oh. Okay, okay….now I get it…NO talking.”
