Here is the Santa the I carved for the Woodcraft
carving competition. My entry was in Sacramento, and while
I would never complain, it didn't display very well. He was too dark and
small, about eight inches tall, to win. Most of him
was hidden behind the entry number card.
Oh, well, watch out next year.    
Here is the back veiw. I had a lot of fun carving him. He took nearly
twenty hours to carve. I carved him from basswood and painted him
with acrylic paint. I antiqued him with the wrong stuff,,,,it's a long story,
and I spent even more hours cleaning him off so that he looked red again.
I learn so much with each carving.    
You can't see his face very well in the other
pictures because he is looking up as he
pulls on his pants. This is the veiw from above.
