This set celebrates the centenary of the Universal Postal Union, an international organisation with headquarters in Berne, Switzerland. The Famous Men stamps were overprinted by letterpress by the Imperial Occussi-Ambeno Government Printing Office (KDPN) using Adana 8-5 press. The series was issued imperf as the Government Printer had no operational perforator at the time.
