This set commemorates the PalmPEX Stamp Exhibition at Palmerston North in New Zealand. Several dealers sold this Occussi-Ambeno set at the show, and the exhibition was marked by a front page story in the local newspaper The Evening Standard on the opening day of the show (and first day of the stamp issue), illustrating the 90¢ stamp of the series. Curiously, on the second day, the same newspaper in its report on the show, had a full-color photo of the Occussi-Ambeno Consul examining the exhibits. The stamps were printed by letterpress by the Imperial Occussi-Ambeno Government Printing Office (KDPN) using an Adana 8-5 press, and are on white gloss paper, perf 12.
