Total Miles Traveled: 4,546
Cost Per Day: $200, that includes all gas, food (basically two meals because most hotels/motels give you a free continental breakfast) and lodging (surprisingly, all across our route, a room ran right around $50 a night which compared to where I live, is a BIG bargain)
Souvenirs and Incidentals: $200
Total Cost: $2000
Cheapest Gas: Nebraska…$1.66.9
Most Expensive Gas: Seattle East…$2.05.9
Everywhere Else: right around $1.80.9 (All of these prices are for mid-grade gasoline.)
Dee and I split the driving half and half.
Bonus: I Lost 6 pounds (I have no idea how that happened)
Windows open. Windows close. When the time is right, you must act or an exquisite opportunity will be lost. Trust yourself. We did. And it happened. I now own my states…all of the continental U.S. plus Hawaii. Alaska in five years. Next winter? The islands. Fly in, buy a bottle of SPF 30 and roll out my beach towel. Possibly Jamaica or Tahiti...Bermuda would be nice too.
