IT WASN'T NAILS
I've often thought of Calvary, where Jesus bled and died,
There on a cross, a rugged cross; My Lord was crucified
I've thought about those rusty nails, that scarred His hands and feet.
What wonderous love, what a sacrafice, He did it all for me.
Not for crimes that He had done, they nailed Him to a tree,
But for His loving Mercy, He gave Hs life for me.
Hanging there between two thieves, no love could e're compare,
But it wasn't those old rusty nails, that held my Savior there.
Chours:
Ten thousand angels, all hoverd 'round
They would have come and taken Him down.
Removed the nails with loving care
But it wasn't nails that held Him there.
verse 2:
They thought that He was bound fast, nailed there in disgrace
Didn't know the King of Glory, had come to take my place.
Didn't kow that His compassion, His love beyond compare
Was the nails, the only nails that held my Savor there.
