The 16-year old sister to Tatewaki Kuno, Kodachi attends an all-girls school. She falls in love with Ranma after he saved her from falling from the Tendo dojo roof, after a failed attack to cripple Akane before the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition between Furinkan and St. Hebereke.

Kodachi is perhaps the least-understood character. She'll willingly cheat and lie to get her way, which is to marry Ranma. She knows Ranma doesn't love her, but believes she can convince him to marry her. Some say her philosophy is "all is fair in love and war," but I think it's really: "If you want something, go get it. It's not going to come to you, after all."

As the most lively character in the series, she sure does scare a lot of people, some to the point of thinking her insane. And I have to point out that Kodachi is no more insane than any of the other characters; she's just obsessive in her own way. Like her brother, she is blinded by her love for Ranma.

Her plans are far-reaching and well-planned; in one case Kodachi tried to get revenge against her brother for destroying a poster of Ranma by distributing doctored photos of female Ranma around Furinkan. The photos, by the way, were very suggestive, much to Ranma's dismay, and much to Kuno's delight. How was this getting revenge, you ask? All of Kuno's time was spent chasing after the photos that Kodachi managed to steal his photo album of the pig-tailed girl. :)

She keeps strange pets at her home, particularly Midorigame, her pet alligator. (btw, the name literally translates as "Green Turtle" :)

Martial Arts

Kodachi studies Rhythmic Gymnastics martial arts. Most of her attacks involve the use of a ribbon, but she can use just about anything as a weapon (she even used her own brother as a weapon!). Anything that isn't bolted down, that is.

The Attack of a 1000 Clubs technique involves attacking with twenty clubs in lightning-quick fashion.

Attacks with black roses are her signature. Most of the time this occurs in the form of a boquet of black roses that release paralytic gas.

Entrances and exits are usually marked by a storm of black rose petals.

Often Kodachi would use chemicals and traps in battle, but sometimes they backfire on her. She's overconfident in her abilities, which sometimes causes her downfall in battle.

Relationships with Others

Ranma. Ranma wants to keep his distance from her. In fact, he really wants nothing to do with her at all, to Kodachi's dismay. Kodachi hates Ranma's female form, seeing her as another rival for 'Ranma-sama.' Like her brother, she doesn't believe that the pig-tailed girl and Ranma are one and the same, even though she's had plenty of chances to see it. Probably denial; after all, love is blind. Interestingly enough, Kodachi is well-aware of the fact that Ranma doesn't love her.

Akane. She is a rival for Ranma's affection, and is treated as such. Contrary to what some believe, Kodachi doesn't actively try to kill her, as it's beneath her station to do such things. She attacked Akane in her opening story just to eliminate her from the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition.

Shampoo. Another rival for Ranma's affections. To Kodachi, a Chinese bimbo.

Ukyo. Another rival for Ranma's affections. To Kodachi, someone beneath her station.

Kuno. Hates him because he hates Ranma. Otherwise the two seem closer to each other than they allow on the surface, as Kuno is trying to look after his little sister, but Kodachi doesn't recognize that. In the anime episode where Kodachi met her estranged father, Kuno tried to spare her the pain their father would do to her, but failed. In the end Kodachi was grateful for what her brother tried to do.

Mousse. Neutral. Not a problem in her book.

Ryoga. Neutral. Not a problem in her book.

Gosunkugi. She treats the pathetic boy like dirt, but he does have his uses.

Principal Kuno. Kodachi loves her father, and doesn't understand why her brother hates him so. She seems forgiving that her father was missing from her life for three years, but hates the fact that he'd rather be with his students than his own daughter.

Asuka the White Lily. Kodachi's childhood rival. Asuka fights even dirtier than Kodachi. The two fight over the best boyfriend around, even going so far as making bets.

In sum Kodachi really has no friends but her brother, but she hotly denies feelings for him. Her biggest problem is that people are afraid of her, from her behavior to her obsessions. Deep down she really is a nice girl, but doesn't know how to show it.
