~ In
Retrospect~
I saw the world
through the eyes of a grandmother
A world filled with quiet strength and perseverance
A world of getting by with the wisdom of experience
A world of certain disappointment but always love and
hope
... And, I never saw the world the same again.
I saw
the world through the eyes of a grandfather
A world filled with determination weakened only by
circumstance
A world filled with teaching youth, exploring
possibilities every moment
A world that looked back with no acceptance of failure
for a loving tired old man
... And, I never saw the world the same again.
I
saw the world through the eyes of a father
A world filled with his mother's love and constant
protection
A world filled with his father's joviality and taste for
intoxication
A world filled with two personalities that never managed
to become one
... And,
I never saw the world the same again.
I saw
the world through the eyes of a mother
A world filled with no reward for hard work save one's
own hide
A world filled with no escape as generations before and
af remained the same
A world filled with shattered dreams, lost loves and no
hope save God's salvation
... And,
I never saw the world the same again.
I saw
the world through the eyes of one who is many
A world filled with the grief of a young family torn
asunder by death and yet reborn
A world filled with reaching goals immeasurable through
unselfish sacrifice
A world filled with strength, beauty, creativity and love
for all but most of all for God
... And,
I never saw the world the same again.
I saw
the world through the eyes of a man, a son, a husband and
father
A world filled with other's expectations too high to
attain and yet he strove on
A world filled with efforts far exceeding repayment and
yet he continued to work on
A world filled with love without fail regardless of
separation though not of himself
... And,
I never saw the world the same again.
I saw
the world through the eyes of bigotry, hatred and
repeated abandonment of family
I saw the world through the eyes of deceit, blazing like
fire as it spewed presumed truth
for the gullible who believed, followed and burned their
bridges of history
I saw the world through the green eyes of jealousy,
doubt, fear
but I also saw trust, love and finally... I saw truth...
And, I
never saw the world the same again!

Below
is a very special personal email note from Mr. Tom Sierak regarding THIS
page.
Thanks
for contacting me re: my work on your site.
"Reflections" is terrific. You write very well indeed,
and you're certainly welcome to use my work for other pages that
you're inclined to create.
I
managed to spend a little time on your site and really enjoyed my
visit. I love the southeast and have thought about relocating to
VA, NC, SC, or Georgia. You're very fortunate to live in such a
great part of the country. "Real" America, the way it
was, is, and always will be!
Thanks
again, and God bless,
