Shit About Life

peculiar how age changes but maturity does not
how i am free and happy in new chains and new rot

Dressed Up in the Obvious, She's Always Late for the Masquerade

it's the finer things in life she always wanted
she had it all planned out in secret
she was going to have it all
beautiful nights in London
waking up, not a thought in her head
except how beautiful life is
but she's aware now of the day, the sun that illuminates all the things she dreamed of
the light that makes her see she's not happy
would the finer things still make her smile?
maybe she's finally realized that all that she wanted isn't all that she needs

la vida urbana

the bullets screamed at me
as they flew past my face
"it's all gonna be okay"
la vida urbana wraps her arms around me
and covers my mouth with her hands
and she sings to me with a heavy soul
"everything's gonna work out in the end"
there's the man who hates his wife,
hates his job and hates his life
his daughter, who finally walked off of the ledge
the kids all gather in a dark alley
slowly drinking away their sins,
then they leave to trangress again.
smoke out the city, burn it to the ground,
light a fire
ignite the souls of the dead
by filling twenty full of lead
then fall asleep in the city of your dreams.

to my sanity: fuck clarity
to my sanctity: fuck purity
to my morality: values aren't shit
to my mentality: everything's shit
we're made to degrade
we're made to parade
your daughter loses
while your son gains
they both end up dust that gets in your eye
on a windy productive day in the city.
