describing the shock of the new from one culture onto another I thought I
would try out something funny today. Let us pretend we are living in a world dominated by let's call them NDNs. These ndns want to go out into the existing world and give it something new to help the world's dismal condition of existence. This something I'll call song and dance ndn style. I will not claim this song and dance will change the way of peoples fighting and killing each other. But, it could be fun to sing and dance ndn style. First comes the idea/concept of change. If you find your style of dancing cool, well, I got news for you - just look at yourselves. En tentant de décrire le choc du nouveau en passant d'une culture à une autre, j'aimerais tenter aujourd'hui de faire quelque chose d'amusant. Faisons comme si le monde était dominé par, appelons les " Indiens".Ces Indiens aimeraient offrir au monde existant quelque chose de nouveau pour améliorer ses pitoyables conditions d'existence. J'appelerais ce quelque chose chants et danses selon le style Indien. Je ne prétendrai pas que ça empêchera les gens de se battre et de s'entretuer, mais ça pourrait être amusant de chanter et danser à l'indienne. D'abord vient l'idée/le concept du changement. Si vous trouvez que votre manière de danser est cool, eh bien j'ai une suggestion à vous faire: regardez-vous!

| Rejecting
the old for the new might be a simplistic definition for the "shock of the
new". But, it is one of the ways/means we have of defining our identities.
Then in the end we often repeat the cycle of change. Today, people call
this process, "re-inventing yourself". Ndn style is cool, as well as
cowboy-cowgirl style is cool. Re-inventing yourself often begins with the
question: Who am I? Sometimes people will spend their whole lives trying
to answer that question. Just be yourself and smile... Le rejet du vieux au profit du nouveau pourrait être une définition simpliste du "choc de la nouveauté". Mais c'est une des façons que nous avons de définir notre identité. Et finalement nous répétons souvent le cycle du changement. Aujourdh'hui on appelle cela "se réinventer". Le style indien est cool, tout comme le style cowboy-cowgirl est cool. Se réinventer commence souvent par la question: Qui suis-je? Parfois les gens passent leur vie entière à essayer de répondre à cette question. Soyez juste vous-même, avec le sourire!!
