Art works: paintings, ready made sculptures,collages, mixed media and art performance which describes through SkyHawk's mind's eye what it means to be ndn (Indian) in the modern world, looking back to the future.

Part retrospective, eclectic, introspective and concentric are just a few words to describe SkyHawk ’s art work and performing career over the past 10 years in Europe and Asia (Eurasia).
There are so many issues to address in indigenous art from North America My issues have probably addressed « tradition versus modernity » . Sub-titled: » Indigenous irony, cross-culture confusion and conflict or looking back to the future of indigenous identity ».

The topics / themes chosen for this present art expo are summed-up in (1) Native peoples politics, (2) pow wow culture, (3) design in culture, and (4) neo-expressionism.

Comment:

Neo-expressionism has been SkyHawk ’s way to let out a majority of anger against the history of the genocide of indigenous peoples. A scream against the oppression. It has also been a way to express the positive influences which are happening in North America today in the 21st century.

This way of making art coupled with representational realism has been a way of crossing cultures and borders around the world for me.

A la fois rétrospectif, éclectique, introspectif et concentrique sont seulement quelques uns des attributs pouvant décrire l ’art et la carrière d ’acteur de SkyHawk pendant les 10 dernières années en Europe et Asia (Eurasie)

Il y a tellement de points à soulever dans l ’art indigène de l ’Amérique du Nord. J ’essaie de mettre l ’accent sur la « tradition par opposition à la modernité » . Sous-titre: «L ’ironie indigène, la confusion interculturelle et le conflit, ou un regard en arrière vers le futur de l ’identité indigène ».

Les sujets / thèmes choisis pour cette exposition d ’art peuvent être résumés en (1) politique des peuples natifs, (2) culture du pow wow, (3) le design dans la culture, et (4) le néo-expressionisme.

Commentaire:

Le néo-expressionisme a été pour SkyHawk un moyen d ’évacuer la grande partie de sa colère contre l ’histoire du génocide des peuples indigènes. Un cri contre l ’oppression. C ’est aussi une façon d ’exprimer les influences positives en action dans l ’Amérique du Nord du 21ème siècle..

Cette façon de faire de l ’art combinée avec un réalisme représentationnel me permet de franchir la barrière des cultures et des frontières tout autour du monde.
