3 Poems: Impenetrable; Handshake; Endall

I.

A little, silver shield
has been covering my eye.
Adorned the day I met you,
it has kept my vision dry.

II.

Grain on grain,
two stories begging
for the hunt. Aching
for the caramelized
refinement of a prize-winning
junkie on the 6 o’clock news.
15 minutes is only…

III.

Every second loops
around the promise that
beginnings and endings
walk hand in hand. We
are sure of the feelings
that come with cookies
and candles, and know
they’ll fade into unfocused
memories. Even after
the endall, let’s walk
hand in hand.
