In high school (which I graduated from in 2000) I took art all four years... this includes a jewelry class, a pottery class, two semesters of independent study, 4 years of graphics design, 1.5 years of A/V, and a year in Advanced Placement Art (who needs academic classes?) Actually, along with my busy art schedule, I did manage to fit in all my required classes (some of them honors courses and *ugh* aerobics) and do a brief semester as a teacher's assistant :) the summer before my senior year of high school, I attended Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI for two weeks earning 1.5 foundation arts credits... during my stay there I deciding that I wanted to attend college there, so that's where I go to school. I'm commuting of course... the dorm building there is a crumbling heap (sorry Marysia... I know you live there) I'll be studying illustration w/ a minor in either animation or art direction. either way, I'll come out of school making tons of money ;) Anyway, Center for Creative Studies is a highly respected art school and I'm looking forward to the experience... although it is in Detroit and in a nasty part of it I'm very sure that I will not be murdered or hit up for drug money until at least my sophomore year... and no one will steal my car because it's cheap... and they can't sell it for scrap metal because it's made of plastic. but in the future, I hope to work for a place like Lucas Arts Entertainment doing character design or doing art direction in animated films or television shows. I think that would be a fun job :) and the first chance I get I'm moving away from the butt cold weather of Michigan and heading westward to California! www.ccscad.edu <--my college |
