Ally

"Uh, Zac, I have some great news." I piped up when he came into view in the kitchen.

"Really? What?" His facial expression showed me he was interested.

"We're going to visit my parents tonight." I grinned. "They want to meet you."

The smile on his face vanished. "When?"

"Tonight."

"Wh...wha...why...what do I do? What do I say?" A panicky looked crossed his face.

"Well, I, personally, think being yourself would be enough." I smiled and walked towards him. "After all, that's the man I fell in love with, right?"

I leaned in and gave him a long kiss, involving a little bit of tongue, then some more.

"Well I uh yeah I guess ooh um God I'm nervous." He leaned back against the wall.

"Don't be. My parents will love you." I assured him.

"What about your uh, your..." He looked down at my hand. "Your ring."

I forgot. Totally and completely forgot. "Oh no." I looked up at him. "I can't put it back on, Zac, it'd go against my religion. "

Zac reached for my hand and then pulled me closer. "I...I'm sorry."

"Why?"

"I don't know. We should just go and...get it over with, alright?" He took my hand and followed me outside to the car.

"Hey Walkie!" I greeted when we walked in the door and the huge German Shepard jumped on me. He made his way to Zac and Zac leaned down next to him.

"Hey big guy." He scratched behind Walker's ears.

"Okay, Walker, this is Zac, Zac, meet Walker." I winked at Zac and he grinned.

He immediatly tensed up when my parents came into view.

"Ally!" Dad moved forward and embraced me quickly before pulling away. My mom did the same thing and planted a kiss on my cheek.

Nobody said anything until my dad moved forward.

"Oh, right." I laughed. "Um, Zac, this is my dad. Dad, this is Zac."

"Yeah, I'm 'my dad'. Gee, Ally, I thought we raised you to always introduce guests to us before Walker."

This comment made Zac laugh. "Pleasure to meet you, sir." He nodded and shook dad's hand.

"Call me Ty."

"And this is my mom, Leah." I introduced Zac to my mom and he gladly shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you, finally, Zac." She smiled.

"My pleasure." Zac shot her his heart-melting smile and we moved into the living room.

Zac

"Zac, can I talk to you?" Ty gave me a serious look and I nodded and followed him into the kitchen.

"I noticed Ally's ring is gone." He commented, standing up tall and putting his hands into his pockets.

I gulped. "Uh, um, ye-yes, yeah, I um." I stuttered.

"Do you love her?"

"What?"

"Do you love her?" He repeated.

"Yes."

"Do you want to spend the rest of your life with her?"

"I think so."

"You think so? Well. The man who was going to take that ring off of her was supposed to be her husband, on her wedding day. I'm very dissapointed."

"I probably would have been that person."

"Well you know what? I'm not convinced that you really want to spend the rest of your life with her."

"Well I don't really care if you're convinced 'cause I am."

"Oh, are you?"

"Yes, I am."

Ally came to the doorway and clenched her jaw. "Daddy, stop it. It wasn't a decision just Zac made. I helped in this too, you know. I wanted it."

This seemed to make Ty more mad than he already was. And I really didn't want that.

"Dad, I refuse to let you stand there and fight with him over something that we wanted. Not something I was forced into, something we-meaning me and Zac-wanted. It's none of your buisness anyways. I'm old enough to make my own decisions." Ally grabbed my hand. "We're leaving now. I'm so sick of fighting and I don't want to hear it anymore." She dragged me outside and to the car. She climbed in the passanger side and I climbed into the driver's seat, sitting there for a minute before actually starting the car up.

"Zac, let's go!" She exclaimed, an angry expression crossing her face.

"What? Oh yeah, right."

I felt hideous for causing Ally to be so upset. I didn't realize her dad would make such a huge deal out of it, otherwise I would've thought of something better to say. So naturally, I felt as if I owed her something. As if it was my responsibility to make her smile again. And I wasn't going to fail to do that.

Ally

"Zac?" I knocked on the bedroom door lightly and then opening it. I turned around, looking everywhere. He was nowhere to be seen. A bouquet of flowers lay on the bed with a note written in black ink.

Hey baby. Your biggest fantasy-It's about to come true.

Zac's note puzzled me slightly. Two hands came down over my eyes, blocking me from seeing anything. Gentle kisses fell onto my neck, moving up until they met my cheek. The hands dropped from my eyes and I turned slowly. Zac's eyes met mine and he smiled slyly. He gently picked me up and carried me into my old bedroom.

"Remember?" He asked quietly, laying me down on the bed. "It’s where we first made love. Do you remember?”

Remember? Of course I remembered!

“I do.” I smiled slowly. He kissed me lightly, placing himself ontop of me. He managed to have myself and him undressed in minutes. He rested against me for a second and looked in my eyes, as if waiting for approval.

I nodded slowly and moaned lightly as he fulfilled my needs.

The only sound that could be heard was the occasional moan here and there. There was no screaming or shrieking. It was just me and him, whispering softly to eachother, professing our love to one another.

“Ally?” He whispered as he thrust one final time. “I love you.” He collapsed against me.

I smiled slowly as he took the spot on the bed next to me and pulled me against him.

“I love you too.”

“Say my name.”

“What?”

“Say it.”

“I love you. Zac.” I smiled slowly and kissed him lightly on the lips.

“G’night.”

“Love you.”

I opened my eyes, almost unwillingly, and found Zac was gone. I groaned, sitting up and looking around slowly. My eyes hit the floor and I found that rose petals were leading out the doorway into the hall. I smiled, wondering what Zac was up to this time.

Trying to get dressed as quickly as possible, I stumbled around, trying to find something that at least matched.

“Zac?” I called, stepping out of the bedroom and following the petals. They stopped at the living room table, where a dozen roses sat in a vase, holding up a piece of paper.

I leaned against the arm of the couch and grabbed the piece of paper.

Ally-
What is it about you? Your smile? Your eyes? The mystical way our souls seem to be connected? I don’t know. I probably won’t ever know. But one thing I know for sure is that I love you more than anything and I will stand by you through everything. That’s a promise. Love you.
-Zac

I smiled slowly.

“Morning beautiful.” Zac came into the living room. “How are you this gorgeous day?” He pulled me down on the couch next to him.

“Ally.”

“Yeah?”

“You know Ally, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Forever. I never want to leave your side...” He gulped.

Somehow I got withdrawn, almost scared of what he was going to say next. I think my reaction made him more frightened that what he’d been before and he got a bit withdrawn himself.

An odd amount of time passed and Zac finally got up and walked away. I couldn’t believe what I’d just done. Practically turned him away. What a mistake.

I walked into Zac’s room, my hands sweating up a storm, my heart beating out of my chest in realization of what I was about to do.

He looked up at me and gave me a half smile...you know, the kind of smile that says ‘I don’t really know if I want to see you right now and I’m miserable but I’ll TRY to smile anyway...’. I smiled back and sat across from him on the bed.

I took his hand, looked deep into his eyes, neither of us saying a single word. We sat there for a while, talking to eachother through our eyes.

“Zac, I love you.” I finally said.

“Yeah, I know.” He muttered slowly, although he looked anything but positive about that statement.

I looked at him harder, my brow growing in confusion.

“I do. I love you more than anything. And I know you think what you said the other night scared me...” I went off. He nodded slowly.

“And maybe it did a little. But I know now that that is all I want. To be with you forever and never let you go, never leave your side, to be yours and only yours from now till the day I die..." Tears fell down his cheeks as my words fully sank into him.

Mine did too at the sight of his pure, unadultered, volurable emotions being shot at me through his eyes.

My voice dropped to a whisper as I said slowly, "What I want to say is...Zachary...will you marry me? Will you be mine till the day I die...”

Zac gulped. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring.

“You know, I was going to give this to you.” He smiled and pulled me towards him. “I will marry you.” He slipped the ring onto my finger.

“It’s beautiful. You were really going to ask me?”

“I was. But I saw the intimidation in your eyes and I just couldn’t. That’s why I got up and left. I didn’t like seeing you scared because of the love I have for you.” He whispered.

“I wasn’t scared...well, okay, maybe I was. But just a tiny bit, alright? I know and I knew how much I love you and nothing could ever change that...not even a bit of intimidation in my eyes.” I smiled slowly.

“We were meant to be together, Ally, God has wonderful plans for us. I am so thankful that He put you in His plans for me.” Zac smiled and touched my cheek lightly.

“And I thank God everyday for your love, Zac, I do.” I sat in between his legs and he rested his head on my shoulder.

“So we’re really going to make this happen?” He asked quietly.

“It’s really gonna happen.”

“Wow.” A shocked look came across his face.

“So now, apart we are two seperate souls.Together, we are one. I love you, Ally.” With that he leaned in and kissed me. I couldn’t recall a time when I’d ever been so happy.
