Playwrigth Carlo Goldoni (Vincent Spano) and his friends; composer-violonist Antonio Vivaldi and painter GianBatista Tieppolo are desperatly searching for wealthy benefactors who will support them and their art. Unfortunatly, all of Goldoni's potential patrons turn up dead, murdered by a mysterious masked man who leaves behind a red silk hankerchief. Convincedthat Goldoni is the killer, the Great Inquisitor has him thrown in prison. After Goldoni proves his innocence, he find himself targetted by the killer. Can his imagination and wit save his life and help reveal the murderer? This film is a comedy of manners that revives the romantic Venice, a murder mystery on backdrops of canals and carnival, the "Piazza San Marco" and the "Palazzo ducale" . |
