When a busload of highschool seniors makes its way to New York from Youngstown, Ohio, everyone of these young people has their own idea on how to occupy their time..
Roger (Scott Baio) is a serious young man in a hurry, who wants to land a major business deal.
Denise (Faye Grant)is the pretty girl with a reputation who has a hard time changing her image and expectations for herself.
Judy (Liz Callaway) is an acting student who wants to audition for Mickey Rooney(as himself) backstage of "Sugar Babies."
Fred and Vic (Ralph Davis and Ron Fassler) are the cool guys eager to meet "real" women.
Dick (Vincent Spano) is a sweet kid with a mild case of arrested development who's just as happy staying in the hotel and playing pranks with his buddy Randy (Robert Townsend).
Jon, (Jeff Marcus) is a sensitive boy from a repressive household wrestling with questions about his art and sexual identity
Then, there is Pete (a young Jason Alexander in a full head of hair) who spend all his time in NYC drinking beer and getting sick as a result.
Of this entire happy group, only two of the students actually get to visit the town and see the sights; the pair of them reminds a lot of Gilligan and MarieAnn.
At first look, it is fairly ligthweight entertainment with shavingcream fights, water balloons dropping and the classical "hide the horse in the hotel room" scene. However, beyond the high jinks, we get an affectionate look at young people at a pivotal time of their lives.
All in all it was a very enjoyable movie!
