Feeling Picasso
I’m feeling very Picasso today—
all nose and lip,
a crooked, sleepy eye
and one arm hidden
behind my head.
Emotion akimbo
on a canvas of irregularity.
Dysfunctional, I plod along
in stark contrast to my surroundings,
a backdrop of realism
that spits me out, rejects me,
leaves me hanging
by a thin wire
on a pasty-white wall
in an empty room—
strung up for all to see.
