This time the themes are more developed, and the continuity
in the music as well as the use of it in the show are shaping up.
The immortal Joxer-theme was born in s2, and can be found on the
album. (How many times have you not been cursed for the fact that
you know it's lyrics by heart?)
As we learned more about Xena's past in that season, we also learned
more about Joe LoDuca's abilities and talent. Album no. 2 is a balanced
and beautiful mix of pure moods, conflict and epic storytelling.
The music contains raw feelings with Sword Play, Quicksand
and other tracks. But there is also hope and color with some of
the Solstice tracks, that in ways outdid the episode.
You really have to own this. Especially if you're among the fans
who root for s2 as the best
season.
