*Don't Marry The Enemy*

"You'll wake up some day and find
That you've left everything behind,
All that's familiar, loving faces,
Favorite towns and friends and places."

"You'll feel trapped in that foreign land."
But I was resolved to take his hand.
So we set sails for that far off shore,
And changed our lives for evermore.

"How will you survive, will you be free,
Among people, who call us, the enemy?
They will blame you, for history's wrong.
Too late you'll pray, 'let me go home'."
"Oh my child, don't marry the enemy."
Twas my Mothers ardent plea for me.
