Ah, good, I was afraid the transparent
wouldn't work. Had to get creative on this one as the
flowers provided didn't exist. I used some I thought
looked like actual "frosting" flowers and like
the result anyhow. Happy Easter. :) |
|
Then I decided to do another. Not
because of FFA, but because I wanted to try it.
Digital
Painting - WomanSpirit Tutorials
Bear with me, it isn't actually
finished. |

This is REALLY taking a long time to
blend. I did cheat by putting the original photo as a
beginning layer so I could trace edges and get some of the
colors. It worked VERY well. I'm not a great drawer. But
I'm getting better at blending as I go along. Her cheek
still needs help, and I haven't started her forehead, eyes
or eyebrows.
If you have some patience, this is a
really cool way to "color" things. When I'm
done, I should have an original piece of artwork. I know
me, and the finished product probably won't look a thing
like the original when I do finally finish. LOL. |

Week of March 16 - 22 |

I did two tutorials this week.

Simple
Border by Hand Made Graphics |

I couldn't manage to do the
"spike" thing to the flower layer, but I
textured the background and liked how it turned out
anyhow. |

Made this for a friend of mine who enjoys
"Witchblade" and sent me some of her pictures
yesterday. Changes I made to the "easy" version:
I set the rectangular selection tool to have a feather of
75. Then I poured in my blue and used a filter called
"Metallic Peacocks" and that gave it that kind
of "blend" look with the black background. I
then cut out the photograph and feathered the edge of that
and simply layered her on top. I attempted a few
"fancy" looks, but this was the one I ultimately
liked the best. |

Week of March 9 - 15 |

I was out sick last week, my apologies.
Thank you, Angel Kitten Kisses, for being very
understanding about that. :) |

PSP
Clone Tool by Vikki Dawson |
|
This was a lot of fun. A little tough to
get the hang of, but I think with practice I can do some
interesting things.
In the first picture I wanted to remove
the "calendar" marks on Tom Welling. I really
enjoy the picture, but found the faded white side
distracting. So I wiped out the WB mark, the calendar
reference, and the white side. |

|
|
As you can see, the background gave me
some trouble, because it just would NOT look like the other
side. I think I could employ the smudge tool and fix some of
the problems. But it actually still looks fine to me.
In this next couple of pictures, Eliza
Dushku had her picture taken on the set of "Angel"
after a major battle with evil. She's kind of beat up and
bruised. Well, the picture is a great one of her, very clean
and clear. So, having had some fun with the first clone
picture, I decided to remove the bruise on her forehead.
Turned out pretty well. |
