My brother, Steve, seemed to have a real knack for art, whether it was with pen, pencil, oil or watercolor.
His talent, combined with the amount of time we spent together as friends, was true motivation for me. He always wanted me to go further and further in art. He would always encourage and compliment my work, as if he could see something in my work that I could not.

While he was only a teenager when he produced these works, he'd had many art teachers who were rigid over the years and yet he was always quietly trying something new, with great success. I never understood where he got his incessant motivation for learning and personal accomplishment. He was never interested in following the world's mold for success, but rather a quiet, more self-fulfilling achievement.

Steve might not appreciate it, but I wanted to put a picture of him on the webpage. Unfortunately, the only picture that I own of him is a childhood picture. While I'm at it, I found a few more pictures that I will share. That's Steve below on the left, and me in the middle (please, nobody make fun of my ears). I also found, and couldn't resist putting, our Dad's picture on here too. I may be the only person alive who thinks he resembles Leonardo Dicaprio.
