The time is fast approaching for individuals to sponsor entries for
the
National Youth Exhibit. The entry form is in the September 2001
issue
of NeedleArts. If you have taught a youth to embroider, this
exhibit is a
great way to enhance their enjoyment of a medium that enriches all
our lives.
A wide variety of pieces are needed to show others all the interests
and
abilities of youth. It is very important to remember NO ENTRIES
WILL BE
JUDGED. Every attempt will be made to exhibit as many pieces
as possible.
If there are more entries than can be exhibited, selection will be
made by
lottery.
The exhibit is also a great way to earn national publicity for your
chapter
and your region. Along with the name and city of the exhibitor,
exhibits
will include the name of the sponsoring member, their chapter, and
their
region. A publicity release will be sent directly to the local
paper of each
youth.
The exhibit will be shown May-August 2002, and it is hoped many youth
and
their family members will make the trip to Louisville to see their
work
displayed. Complete details are in the September 2000, page 62,
issue of
NeedleArts and will be repeated in the Second Quarter 2001, President’s
Mailing.
I am counting on many entries from EACH Region.

Chairman, Youth Program
YOUTH EXHIBIT
1. All entries postmarked by October 31, 2001, have automatically
been
accepted for exhibition. Entries have been received form the
following
regions: Greater Pacific, Heartland, Mid-Atlantic, Mid-Eastern, New
England,
Rocky Mountain, South Central, and Tennessee Valley.
2. Additional entries will be accepted until January 31, 2002.
Acceptance
into the exhibit will be continuous until the available space is filled.
Remember, this is not a judged exhibition, and all pieces are welcome.
Our
goal it to let others know that youth enjoy creating with fabric and
thread.
3. There will not be a lottery. ALL PIECES WILL BE ACCEPTED
UNTIL THE SPACE
IS FULL. The sooner the piece is entered, the sooner it can be
accepted.
5. The entry form is on page 15 of the September 2001, issue of
NeedleArts
and on the back of this flyer. Please copy as needed for multiple
entries.
4. Information will be posted on the E-List and to National Headquarters
when the space is full. Members may also contact Barbara Herring,
at
BAHerring@aol.com or call 501-821-5722 before mailing entries.
Please leave
a message if no one is home. You call will be returned.
