National Youth Exhibit

Youth Exhibit Update:
Diana Snyder, new Director of Education, has extended the deadline for Youth Exhibit entries from October 31, 2001 to January 31, 2002.  Acceptance into the exhibit will be continuous until the available space is filled.  This is not a judged exhibition and all pieces are welcome.  The goal is to let others know that youth enjoy creating with fabric and thread.  The entry form is on page 15 of the September 2001 issue of NeedleArts. The E-List and EGAHQ will be notified when the space is filled.  You may also contact Barbara Herring, Chairman of the Children’s Program, at BAHering@aol.com to verify that space is still available before sending in entries.

The time is fast approaching for individuals to sponsor entries for the
National Youth Exhibit.  The entry form is in the September 2001 issue
of NeedleArts.  If you have taught a youth to embroider, this exhibit is a
great way to enhance their enjoyment of a medium that enriches all our lives.
A wide variety of pieces are needed to show others all the interests and
abilities of youth.  It is very important to remember NO ENTRIES WILL BE
JUDGED.  Every attempt will be made to exhibit as many pieces as possible.
If there are more entries than can be exhibited, selection will be made by
lottery.

The exhibit is also a great way to earn national publicity for your chapter
and your region.  Along with the name and city of the exhibitor, exhibits
will include the name of the sponsoring member, their chapter, and their
region.  A publicity release will be sent directly to the local paper of each
youth.

The exhibit will be shown May-August 2002, and it is hoped many youth and
their family members will make the trip to Louisville to see their work
displayed.  Complete details are in the September 2000, page 62, issue of
NeedleArts and will be repeated in the Second Quarter 2001, President’s
Mailing.

I am counting on many entries from EACH Region.
