Monkey Hut

Anna Jane picked up her pace. Almost there.

“Anna Jane, slow down!” Vivian yelled.

“It’s no use. She won’t listen,” Logan said. The geisha groaned.

“Where are we going?” she asked. No one had an answer. Meanwhile, Anna Jane kept walking.

Suddenly, she stopped. Her friends were confused.

“AJ?” Logan asked. The little girl kept her back to him. She looked at the sky.

“What’s she doing?” Vivian asked. They had no answers. Anna Jane pointed forward.

“There!” she shouted. Everyone about stumbled backwards.

“She spoke!” Sgt. Patel said. Anna Jane still had her back to them before she took off running.

“Anna Jane!” her friends yelled. They took off after her. She didn’t stop running. The little girl moved as if on instinct. Now, she had a destination.

The old monkey lady waited outside of her hut. She was near. Just a little bit closer.

“Anna Jane! Anna Jane, slow down!”

The old monkey lady face the path leading to her hut. The footsteps grew louder. Th old woman held out her arms. Yes! They were here!

Anna Jane stopped in front of the hut. Her friends caught up to her side. At this point, the little girl snapped out of it.

“Huh?” she asked. Vivian tilted her head.

“What the hell is this?” she asked. Everyone looked up in front of them. A single hut stood in the middle of nowhere. In the doorway stood an old lady. Her body was normal. Powdery blue robes covered it. Her face looked like a monkey mask. Her hair was wild and white. She held out her arms.

“Welcome! I’ve been expecting you!” the old lady said. Everyone stood silent. Anna Jane tilted her head.

“Who are you?” she asked.

“Ah yes,” the old woman said. “My name is Alistair.” She pointed to Anna Jane.

“And you must be Anna Jane,” she said. The little girl blinked.

“How do you know my name?” she asked. The old lady bowed.

“The god of this world told me that you would be coming here,” she said. “I am supposed to help you.” The sergeants didn’t know what to make of this.

“Where are we? Sgt. Petal asked. “Where exactly are we?”

“You’re in the peaceful section of the island,” the old woman said. “Do not worry. The armies won’t reach us as long as you stay in this area.” She turned towards the hut.

“Come in, we have so much to talk about,” she said. The old lady walked into the hut. The crew looked at each other at first. Anna Jane followed after the Alistair.

“AJ!” Logan shouted. He ran after her.

“Wait!” Vivian shouted. She ran after the two kids. The two teddy bears and George followed behind. The sergeants didn’t have much of a choice. They too followed behind.

They wait on all three sides. The monkey army, the panda army, and the reapers. They can’t act yet. Anna Jane and her friends would have to be the ones to act. They were protected by the boundaries. One of them would have to step out for them to act. For now, all they could do was wait.
