1. Curriculum 00-Connection

A distress call has made. "This is...area 9...the 38th platoon under attack by unidentified...request further command INCOMING!!" Narrator: "4084 A.D. Mankind...has fallen into its most dire crisis, because of a fatal mistake and lost one planet after the other. The only planet left Zion. And mankind must protect it to ensure their future. From those who sought after Zion, the Victim." A victim has spotted! The five goddesses fly in and begin formation. Aqui-Keameia activates a level two shield. Tellia-Kallisto is in attack position. Ernest scans for other victims none detected. Teela instructs the pilots to go into Formation 5B. Garu asks for a number three and says, "I'll take it down in one shot." A giant box suddenly appears and in it, is released a gun of some kind. The Eeva Leena equips it. All pilots are ready to go! Teela instructs them to engage attack! The Eeva Leena gets ready to attack, and shoots the victim. A nice view of Zion is now seen, along with a space shuttle flying towards it. A man's voice is heard, "Hey, candidate #88. You can see it now." Zero puts his hands up to the glass and watches Zion. His excitement makes his the man traveling with him question his age. But Zero responds, that its just the first time he has seen Zion, and left his colony. Zero also adds that his sickness it gone too. This surprises the man, and he checks his computer. He says that there was no such data, for a pilot. Zero jumps in by yelling, "I will! I've decided to become one. At any cost!" Zero goes on to explain that his blood is EO and that he has positive EX too. And humans with that are rare, and that's why he was chosen for pilot training school. Zero pulls out a card tied around his neck. The man becomes angry at Zero for putting a hole on his boarding card. Zero responds that it was the only way to keep him from losing it. They continue fighting. A boy in the back, shown sitting down, gets up and leaves. When the man asks him where he's going he says, "I'm going outside. I don't feel comfortable." Zero then comes running into the same room as #87 looking for a better view of Zion. Suddenly, an explosion occurs that hits the space shuttle. Zero falls onto him. It then cuts back to the transport man again and another candidate. He concludes that the battle with the victim is over. The candidate with him questions what just happened asking if those lights and shockwaves that occurred was a Goddesses' verdict. He replies, "Yeah, seems like they caught a big one again. Those five goddesses...the are..." It goes back to Zero, with the boy he fell on kicking him. Zero jumps back. The boy says, "You're getting on my nerves." Zero doesn't like his attitude, and says that they are candidates. The boy doesn't like being compared to Zero; he calls him an eyesore and turns away. Zero gets infuriated, and his hair turns a blue color. He runs at him and disappears. The hood the boy was wearing falls down off his head. Zero reappears crouching in front of a doorway. The door opens behind him, and the candidate seen earlier trips and falls over Zero. He asks Zero to please stop tripping people. Zero asks why he's here, and the boy responds that he was checking on them. The boy stops, turns and says, "Hiead Gner your shorts are showing." Zero starts laughing. Hiead pulls up his pants. Him and Zero stare at each other. Just then, the man transporting them walks in. He says recreation time is now over, we are reaching our destination. Their shuttle receives permission to dock, is Zero is still excited. GOA is then explained by the Narrator. Zero shows his excitement by shouting "It's GOA GOA GOA!" The boy Zero tripped over Zero before, tells Zero that he doesn't have to repeat it, and that his excitement is already quite visible. Zero says we're going to become pilots, and Hiead interrupts, "If you can make it." Zero makes a face at him and declares that he will become a pilot. He will fight alongside the white goddess. The boy talks with Zero about the white Ingrid, and introduces himself as Clay Cliff Fortran, candidate #89. Another space shuttle is shown docking into GOA. Four of the pilots are shown. Garu is complaining that coming to GOA once a year is one time too many. Rio tells him that service is a pilots job too, but Garu still finds it annoying. Teela comes out of her Ingrid. She apologizes for making them wait and tells them to go. Rio runs after her asking if they can eat first. Ernest begins talking to Yu about being a pilot. Garu puts his hand on his shoulder. He seems like he is going to sympathize with Ernest and his strange feeling, but instead grabs him. He angered by Ernest because him are Yu are always having conversations that are boring. He then starts yelling at Yu, "How about giving Ernest an answer with your tongue for a change?!?" He points his finger at him like he's giving a lecture. Garu finds Yu's silence annoying. Yu raises his hand and points at something. Garu orders him to say it out loud. Yu responds, "She's calling you." Garu turns around. It seems his partner Leena had been calling him. Leena reports an internal error with Eeva Leena. She'll try and reconfigure it, and asks Garu to come back later. Two men sitting in a room are seen, but it's too dark to see their faces. They review each of the pilots and their Ingrids. They go on to discuss that pilots can't stay pilots forever. They're use of EX has been exhausting them. Replacements must be ready if a pilot cannot continue. It cuts back to Zero, screaming. He's backed up against a wall by a man with scissors. He explains to Zero that his hair will be cut, as well as his clothes. Zero responds, "Cutting them? I'll take them off." The transporter man seen earlier states that those who enter the #1 sanitary station are not done that way. Zero calls out for the old man, but denies being an old man. He says, "Sometimes I'm the captain of the transports then again sometimes I'm the scary instructor who shows you the right way I'm Azuma Hijikata." The alarm on his watches goes off telling him the ceremony will start soon. He tells Zero not to be late. Zero yells Instructor as Azuma Hijikata walks out the door. Zero leaves the station after having a horrible experience. He describes GOA to be like a prison. He questions weather or not he'll make it, and gets angry at himself for having doubts. Zero soon realizes that he doesn't even know where he's supposed to go. He wanders throughout GOA, through hallways and down stairwells. When he comes to what he thinks is a dead end, his foot steps on a panel, and a door opens. He has come to the storage area for the Goddesses. He steps on another panel, and the elevator takes him down to them. Zero walks by the Ingrids in awe. While walking by Eeva Leena, her eyes light up, and the cockpit opens. Meanwhile, Leena, who is still working on Eeva Leena; her computer screen reads a pilot has been detected. She thinks it Garu and goes to greet him. Before Zero can explain, she demands that Zero give his name. He tries to explain again, and approaches Leena. But Leena doesn't want to be touched and pushes Zero away. Zero falls back into the cockpit of the Ingrid. Zero doesn't understand what's happening, and complains about it being too dark. Light suddenly appears. A computer voice can be heard, "Initiating all connection procedures." Zero is starting to be scanned, and Leena says that the Ingrid shouldn't react to anyone but the pilot. Since Ingrids are set exclusively to their pilots, anyone else connecting with Eeva Leena may die. Zero screams with pain. Leena presses the emergency stop button, but it doesn't work. She calls for Garu to come. Zero says he can hear a voice. A mysterious girl begins floating down to Zero. She embraces Zero and tells him, "Please find me. Please look at me. Who has parted many times inside you." Connection complete.
