A/N: Back to vocab paragraph form! And actually, I think the rest of this story was for extra credit... I remember she didn't make us do vocab paragraphs anymore, but my story wasn't done yet so she let me finish it for some EC. Yeah, I am a dork, but I had to finish my story!
Vocabulary Adventure: Part 9
Gwydion
"What are we going to do now that Marc's gone?" asked Missy.
Ty stood up. "We keep going." When the rest of the group just stared at him, he added, "We've been on this odyssey for too long to give up. We can't panic just because we're down one Destined. This may be a herculean task with just the seven of us, but we have to do it."
Just like myrmidons, everyone nodded in agreement, though they weren't all totally convinced.
As they walked, Iggy used a map on his computer to find any labrinthine structures. If he recalled correctly, their keys were supposed to be hidden in a complex maze. But, before they got far, an invisible aegis stopped them in their tracks. (an invisible wall ^_^;;)
"I believe we've run into a palladium of some sort," said Iggy, thoroughly interested.
At that moment, a stentorian noise peirced through the air. The group closed their ears and eyes tight, trying to rid themselves of the Draconian sound. When it finally stopped, they opened their eyes and saw a black-clad amazon before them.
"Well, aren't you a mercurial group," Lady Devi said in a raspy voice, "I shall be your nemesis until my master gets here."
"What an ugly woman," said Ty under his breath. Lady Devi looked at him.
"Yes, well, you're no Adonis yourself," she replied, annoyed. Then she smiled, revealing long fangs, and added, "But I'm sure your blood will be an ambrosial treat."
"She's a vampire? Ew! Gross!" yelled Missy.
"But such chimerical creatures aren't supposed to exist!" cried Job hysterically.
"Um, why don't you think about where we are, what we've seen, and what you just said," Sara pointed out.
"I hope Marc's okay," JC said, trying not to think that Lady Devi could have already gotten to his brother.
"Unfortunately for us, we are not a martial group," said Iggy.
"Why is our mentor Jeanie never around when we need her!" exclaimed Ty.
"I'd love to hector you further, but I must get rid of you now," said Lady Devi. At that, a Stygian black cloud appeared around the seven Destined. They soon became lethargic and sank to the ground, anable to stand.
Ty shook his head. "No!" cried the Spartan defiantly, "I won't give in! I can't!" But he couldn't withstand it any longer. The young boy collapsed to the ground.
"Where are you, Marc? We need you. We all have to work together," he thought as his eyes slid shut.
to be continued...
A/N: Yeah... This one dealt with, like, mythological terms, or something like that. I had to go back and check later chapters to make sure they ran into a wall and not something else. ^_^;; But I am just weird. Sorry if this one may have been a little harder to understand.
