Art Room Guidelines:
The Art room is a space in which the students create their art. It is a place that is cared for not only by the teacher, but also by the students. By following these guidelines, students help to create and maintain a safe and secure working environment whereby they can freely express themselves by creating and discussing art. However, consequences for failing to comply with these guidelines can include warnings, student-teacher conference, parent contact, and office referral.
- We come to class on time and prepared.
- We enter the room quietly and quickly.
- We leave all food and drink OUTSIDE the art room.
- We remain quiet while the teacher reviews the agenda for the day. Specific introductions/demonstrations will be given at this time.
- WE RESPECT OURSELVES, OTHERS AND PROPERTY.
- We speak with a low volume, without profanity, and without hurting others.
- Students stay seated while working and must have permission to be out of their seats. Leaving the classroom is only permitted with a signed pass/specified pass.
- Listen to specific clean-up instructions (five minutes before the bell).
- Students are dismissed to clean up. Materials must be cleaned and returned to proper place. Artwork will be stored in appropriate slot in shelf. Table should be sponged off if necessary. CLASS WILL NOT BE DISMISSED UNTIL ROOM IS CLEAN.
- When tables are clean and all materials put away, students STAY SEATED and await teacher dismissal at the bell.
