Negative Status Ailments:
Curable with items and/or magic:
Poison: HP/MP Gradually Decrease (Antidote)
Toxic: HP/MP decrease more than with poison, and attack goes down. (Antidote)
Blind: Attack accuracy down (Sight Potion)
Distracted: Magic power and magic accuracy down (Focus Potion)
Bloodlust: Attack power up, only usable command is 'attack' (cannot skip turn or defend) (Tranquilizer)
Silence: Unable to cast magic (Speech Potion)
Paralyze: Unable to act (Restorative Potion)
Sleep: Unable to act, Defense Down (Smelling Salts)
Newt: Unit becomes a Newt, and attack power diminishes. Unable to cast any magic except water elemental. (Humanity Potion)
Slow: Speed down. (Speed Potion)
Stop: Unit cannot act and will not gain EXP. (No items; only curable by Time Magic or it will wear off after several turns.)
Burned: Unit suffers from burns that reduce speed and increase weakness to fire. (Salve)
Giant: Attack power up, Magic Attack and Speed Down. (Shrinking Potion)
Dwarf: Attack power down, Magic Defense and Speed Up. (Growth Potion)
Curable by items only:
Trance: Speed down, only usable command is 'magic'. (Fairy Dust)
Petrify: Turned to stone; cannot act, and will die if attacked with an earth spell. Will not gain EXP. (Soft Potion)
Weak: Defense and Magic Defense down (Stimulant Potion)
Fatigue: Attack, speed, and magic power down. (Energy Drink)
Uncurable/Curable by special means:
Frozen: Unit is encased in ice and cannot act; Physical Defense is also halved and cannot gain EXP. (Until hit with fire element)
Damned: Unit will die in 3 turns. (Unless battle ends before)
Puppet: Unit will serve the opponent's side and not gain EXP. (Until the inflictor of the ailment dies)
Insane: Unit will randomly attack friend and foe alike with spells and attack and will not gain EXP. (Unless opponent damages the unit.)
Zeal: All stats up, but will not receive EXP or money after battle and HP gradually decreases. (Ends after battle)
Undead: Unit dies and is risen as an undead; Curative magic/ items
will harm, unit attacks your party, and will not gain EXP.
Cure by killing and reviving the unit. (Holy water instantly kills an undead unit and allows it to return to life easily.)
Remain after battle:
Poison, Blind, Silence, Petrify, Newt, Fatigue
Positive Status Ailments:
Protect: 1.5x Physical Defense
Barrier: 1.5x Magical Defense
Mirror: Returns Magic Lv 1-3 to the caster and reduces damage from lv 4 spells.
Strong: 2x Attack power
Willful: 2x Magical Attack Power
Focused: 100% Physical/Magical Accuracy
Protect2: 2x Physical Defense (will replace Protect if already active)
Barrier2: 2x Magical Defense (will replace Barrier if already active)
Fast: 2x Speed
Quick: 3x Speed
Rapid: 4x Speed
Healing: Unit gradually recovers HP
Manafount: Unit gradually recovers MP
Dodge: +10% Evade
Veil: +30% Evade, +30% Magic Evade
Invisible: 100% Physical evade, Half Magic Defense
Invincible: Unit is immune to damage OR healing for 1 turn
Immortal: Unit will be revived once upon death. Can be cast once per character/enemy per battle.
