The Sabi Star
Adenium obesum
from the family Apocynaceae, the Sabi Star (also known as Baby Baobab because of the thick & distorted base) was one of Rhodesia's most beautiful generic wild flowers. Sometimes growing to a height of over 3 metres the thick succulent stem attracted many types of wild animals in search of water. Kudu in particular were partial to the pink & white flowers. The Sabi Star was peculiar to the Sabi & Zambesi valleys.
